Walbeckornis is an extinct bird from the Eocene of Germany, assigned to an uncertain systematic position near the base of Neoaves. The Messel Pit fauna of Germany, a Lagerstätte, is famous for extraordinarily preserved Eocene birds and mammals.
Diet & Feeding
Walbeckornis was a meat-eating predator. Carnivorous dinosaurs were active hunters or scavengers, equipped with sharp teeth and claws for catching and consuming prey. They occupied the top of the food chain in their ecosystems.
