Busarellus nigricollis, the black-collared hawk, is a medium-sized raptor of the family Accipitridae native to tropical lowlands of Central and South America. It specializes in hunting fish from wetlands and flooded grasslands, aided by long, curved talons. Subfossil material from Venezuela documents its Quaternary presence in northern South America. Its distinctive rufous plumage and broad wings make it a conspicuous wetland predator of the Neotropical region.
