Oraristrix brea was an extinct owl from the Late Pleistocene La Brea Tar Pits of California. This North American owl was one of many predators trapped in the asphalt seeps of La Brea while pursuing prey, preserving a remarkable snapshot of the Pleistocene ecosystem.
