Dendragapus gilli

Dendragapus gilli

†Dendragapus gilli is an extinct species of grouse (family Phasianidae) from Pleistocene deposits of the United States. A relative of the living blue grouse and sooty grouse, this galliform inhabited montane conifer forests. Its fossil record helps reconstruct the late Quaternary range shifts of North American grouse species during glacial cycles.
