Dendrocygna arcuata (wandering whistling-duck) is a living waterfowl species with a fossil record extending into the Pleistocene of Australia. This herbivorous duck frequents wetlands and grasslands across tropical Australia, Indonesia, and the Philippines. Fossils confirm the long tenure of this species in Australian Quaternary avifaunas during changing climatic conditions.
Diet & Feeding
Dendrocygna arcuata was a plant-eating dinosaur. Herbivores typically fed on ferns, cycads, conifers, and other vegetation available during their era. Many herbivorous dinosaurs developed specialized teeth and digestive systems for processing tough plant material.
