<dinofyi-dinosaur slug="devincenzia"></dinofyi-dinosaur>†Devincenzia is an extinct genus of phorusrhacid (terror bird) from South America. Named after naturalist Joachim de Viana, this large carnivorous flightless bird possessed a massive hooked beak for dispatching prey. Terror birds dominated as apex predators in Cenozoic South America before the Great American Biotic Interchange.
Diet & Feeding
Devincenzia was a meat-eating predator. Carnivorous dinosaurs were active hunters or scavengers, equipped with sharp teeth and claws for catching and consuming prey. They occupied the top of the food chain in their ecosystems.
