<dinofyi-dinosaur slug="aletornis-nobilis"></dinofyi-dinosaur>Aletornis nobilis is an extinct gruiform bird from the Eocene (~50 Ma) of Wyoming, USA. One of several Aletornis species from the Green River Formation, it was a rail-like wading bird of Eocene lakeside habitats. The Green River Formation preserves an extraordinary diversity of Early Eocene birds during a key period when modern avian orders were rapidly diversifying.
Diet & Feeding
Aletornis nobilis was a meat-eating predator. Carnivorous dinosaurs were active hunters or scavengers, equipped with sharp teeth and claws for catching and consuming prey. They occupied the top of the food chain in their ecosystems.
