†Diomedeoides lipsiensis is an extinct procellariiform seabird from Oligocene deposits near Leipzig (Lipsia), Germany. Its wing bones indicate a bird adapted for dynamic soaring over ancient seas. As a member of the extinct Diomedeoididae, it contributes to understanding the early radiation of tube-nosed birds in the Paleogene of Europe.
Diet & Feeding
Diomedeoides lipsiensis was a meat-eating predator. Carnivorous dinosaurs were active hunters or scavengers, equipped with sharp teeth and claws for catching and consuming prey. They occupied the top of the food chain in their ecosystems.
