† Gallirallus vekamatolu — an extinct flightless rail from Pacific islands. Omnivorous ground-dweller; 'vekamatolu' is a Fijian name. Part of the diverse extinct Gallirallus radiation. Most species went extinct before or shortly after European contact, leaving only subfossil evidence of their exis.
