Amplibuteo concordatus is an extinct large hawk from the Pleistocene (~1 Ma) of Cuba. A large accipitrid raptor, it was among the top avian predators of Pleistocene Cuba, likely hunting the endemic ground sloths, rodents, and other island vertebrates. Named by Arredondo in 1975, it is one of several remarkable large raptors that evolved in the island isolation of the Greater Antilles.
Diet & Feeding
