†Anchigyps voorhiesi was an extinct New World vulture (family Cathartidae) discovered in North America. A carnivorous scavenger with a wingspan estimated around 1.5m, it represents an early lineage of condor-like raptors. Its fossils provide evidence for the Pleistocene diversification of cathartid vultures across the Americas.
Diet & Feeding
Anchigyps voorhiesi was a meat-eating predator. Carnivorous dinosaurs were active hunters or scavengers, equipped with sharp teeth and claws for catching and consuming prey. They occupied the top of the food chain in their ecosystems.
