<dinofyi-dinosaur slug="anhima-cornuta"></dinofyi-dinosaur>†Anhima cornuta (Horned Screamer) is an extant anseriform bird native to tropical South America, including Venezuela. A large herbivorous waterfowl reaching 90cm, it bears a distinctive forehead horn and bony wing spurs. Though not extinct, subfossil specimens contribute to understanding avian biogeography in Neotropical wetland ecosystems.
Diet & Feeding
Anhima cornuta was a plant-eating dinosaur. Herbivores typically fed on ferns, cycads, conifers, and other vegetation available during their era. Many herbivorous dinosaurs developed specialized teeth and digestive systems for processing tough plant material.
