Calonectris leucomelas, the streaked shearwater, is a large pelagic seabird of the family Procellariidae, breeding on islands off Japan and the Korean Peninsula and wintering in the western Pacific and Indian Oceans. A carnivore, it hunts fish and squid in surface waters. Fossil material from Japan documents its presence through the Quaternary. Its white face and brown streaking are distinctive. It is among the most numerous shearwaters of the Northwestern Pacific.
