Belgirallus oligocaenus is an extinct rail from Oligocene deposits of Belgium. This carnivorous rallid is named for its Oligocene age and represents an early European record of the family Rallidae. Its fossils from Belgium's rich Paleogene deposits help anchor the temporal calibration of rallid phylogenies and document the early radiation of rails in Europe.
