<dinofyi-dinosaur slug="cursorius-cursor"></dinofyi-dinosaur>Cursorius cursor, the cream-coloured courser, is a fast-running shorebird (Glareolidae) of arid steppes and desert margins from the Canary Islands across North Africa and the Middle East to Central Asia. Weighing about 140 g, it pursues beetles and other invertebrates on foot across bare ground. Fossil material is known from Pleistocene deposits of Morocco and Mediterranean islands. Its sandy plumage provides excellent cryptic camouflage in desert environments.
Diet & Feeding
Cursorius cursor was a meat-eating predator. Carnivorous dinosaurs were active hunters or scavengers, equipped with sharp teeth and claws for catching and consuming prey. They occupied the top of the food chain in their ecosystems.
