<dinofyi-dinosaur slug="apteribis-glenos"></dinofyi-dinosaur>†Apteribis glenos was a flightless ibis from Molokai, Hawaii, representing a distinct island species within this endemic Hawaiian genus. Reconstructed as a ground-dwelling probing omnivore exploiting forest floor invertebrates, it became extinct following Polynesian colonisation. Its remains from Molokai cave deposits provide important data on the prehistoric avifauna of the central Hawaiian chain.
Diet & Feeding
Apteribis glenos was a meat-eating predator. Carnivorous dinosaurs were active hunters or scavengers, equipped with sharp teeth and claws for catching and consuming prey. They occupied the top of the food chain in their ecosystems.
