Astur atricapillus, the American goshawk, is a large accipitrid hawk native to North America with fossil records from the United States. A powerful aerial carnivore reaching 60 cm in length, it hunts medium-sized birds and mammals in dense forests, using its long tail for maneuverable flight through woodland canopies.
Diet & Feeding
Astur atricapillus was a meat-eating predator. Carnivorous dinosaurs were active hunters or scavengers, equipped with sharp teeth and claws for catching and consuming prey. They occupied the top of the food chain in their ecosystems.
