Australlus disneyi

Australlus disneyi is an extinct flightless rail from Pleistocene deposits of Queensland, Australia. This small carnivorous bird evolved flightlessness on the Australian continent and represents part of the diverse Quaternary avifauna decimated by megafaunal extinctions. Named after Walt Disney, it was formally described from isolated tarsometatarsal elements.

Australlus disneyi was a meat-eating predator. Carnivorous dinosaurs were active hunters or scavengers, equipped with sharp teeth and claws for catching and consuming prey. They occupied the top of the food chain in their ecosystems.
