Aviceda gracilis, the crested baza, is an extant accipitrid hawk native to Australia and New Guinea. This medium-sized carnivore feeds primarily on insects, frogs, and small lizards, using its prominent head crest and sharp hooked bill. It inhabits tropical and subtropical rainforest margins and is notable for crepuscular hunting behavior.
Diet & Feeding
Aviceda gracilis was a meat-eating predator. Carnivorous dinosaurs were active hunters or scavengers, equipped with sharp teeth and claws for catching and consuming prey. They occupied the top of the food chain in their ecosystems.
