Borvocarbo is an extinct cormorant genus from Eocene or Oligocene deposits of Europe. These carnivorous diving birds pursued fish in coastal or freshwater environments and represent early members of the family Phalacrocoracidae. Their fossil material from Germany contributes to understanding the Paleogene diversification of cormorants in the western Palearctic.
Diet & Feeding
Borvocarbo was a meat-eating predator. Carnivorous dinosaurs were active hunters or scavengers, equipped with sharp teeth and claws for catching and consuming prey. They occupied the top of the food chain in their ecosystems.
