†Devincenzia gallinali is an extinct phorusrhacid terror bird from the Neogene of Uruguay. Standing over 1.5 m tall, this powerful flightless carnivore used its large hooked beak to kill prey. Its discovery in Uruguay documents the broad southern South American distribution of terror birds during the Miocene and Pliocene epochs.
