Large flightless herbivore; part of the family of Australian 'thunder birds' (Dromornithidae). Ilbandornis is known from central Australian deposits. These giant ratite-like birds went extinct ~40,000–50,000 yea.
Diet & Feeding
Ilbandornis was a plant-eating dinosaur. Herbivores typically fed on ferns, cycads, conifers, and other vegetation available during their era. Many herbivorous dinosaurs developed specialized teeth and digestive systems for processing tough plant material.
