Pachyornis is an extinct moa (Dinornithiformes) from New Zealand. These large ratite birds included heavy-footed and elephant-footed species; extinct following Polynesian arrival ~700 years ago after ~80 million years of evolution.

Carnivore

Pachyornis was a meat-eating predator. Carnivorous dinosaurs were active hunters or scavengers, equipped with sharp teeth and claws for catching and consuming prey. They occupied the top of the food chain in their ecosystems.
