Palaeortyx intermedia

Palaeortyx intermedia

† Palaeortyx intermedia was an extinct quail-relative (Phasianidae) from France. A small Neogene galliform of uncertain diet, it inhabited European woodland-grassland ecotones. Its name suggests intermediate morphological characters between other Palaeortyx species.
