Struthio era um dinossauro herbívoro. Os herbívoros geralmente se alimentavam de samambaias, cicas, coníferas e outra vegetação disponível em sua época. Muitos dinossauros herbívoros desenvolveram dentes e sistemas digestivos especializados para processar material vegetal resistente.
