Esses antigos parentes de anseriformes documentam a presença de uma linhagem de aves aquáticas próxima à base da evolução das aves modernas antes da extinção K-Pg.
Dieta e Alimentação
Vegaviidae era um dinossauro herbívoro. Os herbívoros geralmente se alimentavam de samambaias, cicas, coníferas e outra vegetação disponível em sua época. Muitos dinossauros herbívoros desenvolveram dentes e sistemas digestivos especializados para processar material vegetal resistente.
