Adelalopus is an extinct genus of bird from the Eocene of Europe, known from fragmentary remains. Its exact systematic placement is uncertain — it has been suggested to belong to Ralloidea or other gruiform lineages. Incomplete fossil material limits detailed interpretation, but it adds to the rich avian diversity of Eocene European faunas.
Diet & Feeding
Adelalopus was a meat-eating predator. Carnivorous dinosaurs were active hunters or scavengers, equipped with sharp teeth and claws for catching and consuming prey. They occupied the top of the food chain in their ecosystems.
