It uses its sharp, spear-like bill to impale fish underwater, then surfaces to swallow and dry its wings. Subfossil specimens help reconstruct Quaternary African freshwater avifaunas.
Diet & Feeding
Anhinga rufa was a meat-eating predator. Carnivorous dinosaurs were active hunters or scavengers, equipped with sharp teeth and claws for catching and consuming prey. They occupied the top of the food chain in their ecosystems.
