This carnivorous pelagic bird represents one of the early members of the Diomedeidae or closely related lineages. Its Pacific coast discovery contributes to reconstructing the history of large soaring seabirds in the North Pacific Ocean.
Diet & Feeding
Diomedavus knapptonensis was a meat-eating predator. Carnivorous dinosaurs were active hunters or scavengers, equipped with sharp teeth and claws for catching and consuming prey. They occupied the top of the food chain in their ecosystems.
