† Grus pagei — an extinct Pliocene crane from California, United States. Large omnivorous wading bird; named for a collector. California Neogene deposits preserve diverse waterbird faunas. G. pagei contributes to the picture of Pliocene avian diversity in western North America before Pleistocene g.

Grus pagei was a meat-eating predator. Carnivorous dinosaurs were active hunters or scavengers, equipped with sharp teeth and claws for catching and consuming prey. They occupied the top of the food chain in their ecosystems.
