<dinofyi-dinosaur slug="microparra-capensis"></dinofyi-dinosaur>Microparra capensis is the lesser jacana, a small living Afrotropic waterbird (Jacanidae). Fossil records from South Africa indicate its presence through the Quaternary; it inhabits floating vegetation on shallow African lakes.
Diet & Feeding
Microparra capensis was a meat-eating predator. Carnivorous dinosaurs were active hunters or scavengers, equipped with sharp teeth and claws for catching and consuming prey. They occupied the top of the food chain in their ecosystems.
