Tonsala is an extinct bird from the Miocene of the United States, assigned to an extinct near-passerine or passerine lineage. Its fossils contribute to the record of Miocene land birds from North America during the Cenozoic avian radiation.
Diet & Feeding
Tonsala was a meat-eating predator. Carnivorous dinosaurs were active hunters or scavengers, equipped with sharp teeth and claws for catching and consuming prey. They occupied the top of the food chain in their ecosystems.
