A piscivorous aquatic predator, it possessed a long sinuous neck, sharp bill for spearing fish, and reduced waterproofing allowing diving. Its fossils document the deep evolutionary history of darter birds across South America.
Diet & Feeding
Anhinga hesterna was a meat-eating predator. Carnivorous dinosaurs were active hunters or scavengers, equipped with sharp teeth and claws for catching and consuming prey. They occupied the top of the food chain in their ecosystems.
