Asio longaevus

Asio longaevus is an extinct owl from Miocene or Pliocene deposits of Ukraine. This carnivorous strigiform is known from isolated postcranial elements and suggests that medium to large owls of the genus Asio had a broad Palearctic distribution well before the Quaternary glaciations reshaped European fauna.

Carnivore

Asio longaevus was a meat-eating predator. Carnivorous dinosaurs were active hunters or scavengers, equipped with sharp teeth and claws for catching and consuming prey. They occupied the top of the food chain in their ecosystems.
