This small carnivorous alcid dived for fish in cold Pliocene Pacific waters and is related to extant marbled and Kittlitz's murrelets. Its fossil record contributes to understanding the Neogene diversification of auks along the North American Pacific coast.
Diet & Feeding
Brachyramphus dunkeli was a meat-eating predator. Carnivorous dinosaurs were active hunters or scavengers, equipped with sharp teeth and claws for catching and consuming prey. They occupied the top of the food chain in their ecosystems.
