† Palaeospheniscus was a genus of extinct penguins (Sphenisciformes) from Argentina. Piscivorous seabirds of the Miocene, they inhabited South Atlantic coastal waters. Multiple species document significant penguin diversification along the South American coast.

Palaeospheniscus was a meat-eating predator. Carnivorous dinosaurs were active hunters or scavengers, equipped with sharp teeth and claws for catching and consuming prey. They occupied the top of the food chain in their ecosystems.
