Somateria gravipes is an extinct eider duck, known from Pleistocene or Pliocene deposits. Fossil eiders document the evolutionary history of these sea ducks, which today are characteristic of Arctic and subarctic marine environments.
Diet & Feeding
Somateria gravipes was a plant-eating dinosaur. Herbivores typically fed on ferns, cycads, conifers, and other vegetation available during their era. Many herbivorous dinosaurs developed specialized teeth and digestive systems for processing tough plant material.
