† Spheroolithus chiangchiungtingensis is a Late Cretaceous ootaxon from Jiangxi Province, China. These spherical eggs with distinctive eggshell microstructure are among the most commonly recovered fossil egg types in southern China.
Diet & Feeding
Spheroolithus chiangchiungtingensis was a plant-eating dinosaur. Herbivores typically fed on ferns, cycads, conifers, and other vegetation available during their era. Many herbivorous dinosaurs developed specialized teeth and digestive systems for processing tough plant material.
Time Period
Spheroolithus chiangchiungtingensis lived during the Cretaceous Late period of the Mesozoic Era, approximately 100.5 to 66.0 million years ago.
恐龙时代的最终篇章,出现了霸王龙、三角龙、伶盗龙等标志性物种。恐龙在奇克苏鲁陨石撞击终结中生代之前达到了多样性顶峰。
