<dinofyi-dinosaur slug="andalgalornis"></dinofyi-dinosaur>†Andalgalornis was an extinct phorusrhacid (terror bird) from Miocene Argentina, standing approximately 1.4m tall. A cursorial carnivore with a massive hooked beak and powerful neck muscles, it was among the apex predators of South American grasslands. Biomechanical analyses suggest it delivered rapid, hatchet-like strikes to prey rather than sustained biting.
Diet & Feeding
Andalgalornis was a meat-eating predator. Carnivorous dinosaurs were active hunters or scavengers, equipped with sharp teeth and claws for catching and consuming prey. They occupied the top of the food chain in their ecosystems.
