† Palaeeudyptes gunnari was a large extinct penguin (Sphenisciformes) from the Eocene of Antarctica. This piscivorous seabird likely reached 140–150 cm in height, navigating polar waters with its flipper-like wings. Fossil specimens from Seymour Island illuminate Antarctic avian paleontology.
Diet & Feeding
Palaeeudyptes gunnari was a meat-eating predator. Carnivorous dinosaurs were active hunters or scavengers, equipped with sharp teeth and claws for catching and consuming prey. They occupied the top of the food chain in their ecosystems.
