Zheroia kurochkini is an extinct bird from Cenozoic deposits of Uzbekistan, named for paleontologist Evgeny Kurochkin. Fossil birds from Central Asian Cenozoic sites document the diverse avifauna that inhabited ancient Tethys Sea margins and steppe environments.

Zheroia kurochkini was a meat-eating predator. Carnivorous dinosaurs were active hunters or scavengers, equipped with sharp teeth and claws for catching and consuming prey. They occupied the top of the food chain in their ecosystems.
