Amtocephale gobiensis

†Amtocephale gobiensis was a pachycephalosaurid dinosaur from the Late Cretaceous (~80 Ma) of the Gobi Desert, Mongolia. A small bipedal herbivore with a domed skull used for intraspecific combat, it was named by Mahito et al. in 2011. Found in the Bayn Shire Formation, it adds to the diverse pachycephalosaur fauna of Late Cretaceous Mongolia and demonstrates their presence in Central Asian ecosystems.
