Daspletosaurus

†Daspletosaurus ('frightful lizard') is an extinct tyrannosaurid theropod from the Late Cretaceous Judith River Formation of Alberta, Canada. Reaching ~8–9 m in length and ~2.5 tonnes, it was a dominant apex predator alongside ceratopsian and hadrosaur prey. Its robust skull, serrated teeth, and reduced forelimbs are hallmarks of the tyrannosaurid bauplan.
