An extinct stork from South Africa, Ciconia kahli is a carnivorous wading bird related to living storks of the family Ciconiidae. Recovered from Cenozoic fossil beds of southern Africa, this species contributes to understanding the Neogene or Pleistocene diversity of large wading birds that inhabited African wetlands and grasslands.
