Cimolopteryx maxima

A species of Cimolopteryx from the Cretaceous of North America, C. maxima is the largest known member of its genus, as its name implies. Known from fragmentary limb bones, this carnivorous bird inhabited Late Cretaceous North American ecosystems alongside diverse dinosaur faunas and represents avian diversity near the end of the Mesozoic.
