† Meroktenos thabanensis was a Late Triassic sauropodiform from the Lower Elliot Formation of Lesotho. A close relative of Plateosaurus, it was among the first large Gondwanan sauropodomorphs and provides evidence for the parallel evolution of large body size in southern African dinosaurs.
