Miortyx teres is an extinct Miocene quail (Odontophoridae or Phasianidae) from the United States. A small ground-dwelling galliform, it inhabited Neogene grassland and scrub environments in North America.
Diet & Feeding
Miortyx teres was a plant-eating dinosaur. Herbivores typically fed on ferns, cycads, conifers, and other vegetation available during their era. Many herbivorous dinosaurs developed specialized teeth and digestive systems for processing tough plant material.
