Elaltitan lilloi

Elaltitan lilloi

† Elaltitan lilloi is a titanosaurian sauropod from the Late Cretaceous Bajo Barreal Formation of Chubut Province, Argentina. Estimated at 25 m in length and potentially 47 tonnes, it was one of the largest animals to have lived in South America. A herbivore browsing on angiosperms and conifers across Patagonian floodplains, it co-existed with giant titanosaurs like Argentinosaurus. Named for the Fundación Miguel Lillo, its discovery adds to the remarkable gigantism documented in South American
