† Elaphrosaurus bambergi is the type and best-known species of Elaphrosaurus, from the Late Jurassic Tendaguru Formation of Tanzania. Named by Werner Janensch in 1920 in honour of the expedition sponsor Herr Bamberg, it is known from a nearly complete headless skeleton. Approximately 6.2 m long and around 210 kg, it was a swift cursorial predator co-existing with giant sauropods like Giraffatitan and Janenschia.
