Elbretornis

Elbretornis

† Elbretornis is an enantiornithine bird from the Late Cretaceous of Patagonia, Argentina, one of a diverse assemblage of toothed birds inhabiting Gondwanan South America during the final stages of the Mesozoic. A small carnivore feeding on insects or small vertebrates, it inhabited the river delta and forest environments of Late Cretaceous Patagonia. Enantiornithines like Elbretornis were the dominant birds of the Cretaceous sky, only displaced by modern birds after the K-Pg extinction.
